There is a thermal pad but what type is this? Is this GND? NC?

Connecting GND is best?

Hey Hiratasan,

Connecting to GND is best. If it is not connected to GND it can result in some noise issues. Please also see Best Practices for Board Layout of Motor Drivers for more tips about the thermal pad, often called PowerPad.
