My customer encountered an issue where the DRV8870 was damaged while testing its operation.
* Symptom
1. Back electromotive force is generated while changing direction without brakes.
2. As the PWM increases, the value of back electromotive force increases (it is estimated to be damaged at 90% PWM, but there is no measured value)
3. The plot below is measured at PWM 30%.
Q1. If there is a solution that can minimize this back electromotive force, please provide it.
Q2. Please give your opinion on whether adding a two-way TVS between motor driver <--> DC motor will be effective.
