I´m currently looking for a stepper motor driver to drive a plunger which must exert a defined force to the front of the valve pin and makes a reference run to the rear to detect the position. In addition, it would be desirable if the motor driver could detect whether a valve pin is present or not via the applied load. For this purpose, the IC would have to have the following properties:
Required:
- Current control
- Load detection
- Stall detection, reference position detection
Desirable:
- Power supply from 2x AA mignon batteries (>=2V)
- Good efficiency for long battery life
- Extremely quiet motor driving (installed in living rooms)
Maximum current will move below 1A.
I found a device STSPIN220 I like for low power supply for my battery opperation but I would also like to have stall detection feature.
