DRV8908-Q1: Can user select CH1 and CH8 for parallel output in contineous or PWM mode?

Is the customer connecting CH1 and CH8 in parallel?

Are OUT1 and OUT8 tied together?

Are OUT1 and OUT8 connected to the same load, but the customer wants to drive the load from only one of the outputs at any one time?

Hi David,

Yes, the customer connected CH1 and CH8 in parallel. OUT1 and OUT8 are connected to the same load. Only when they began to test the sample baord through SPI command did they find the controls on CH1 and CH8 are in different bytes. Is there a way to control the two channels to turn-on or turn-off at same time without any delay which may cause OCP?

Due to the channels having separate control registers there will be a delay between the outputs. The OCP is being monitored per channel, therefore if one channel is tripped then the outputs will disable for all channels. 

It is also important to keep in mind the following requirements when operating in parallel mode.
