DRV8802-Q1: about input electrolytic capacitor at VMx pin

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8802-Q1

Dear all,

I would like to know about input electrolytic capacitor at VMx pin.

Are there some concerns if electrolytic capacitor fall below the recommend value (100uF) by capacitor's temperature character and aged deterioration.

Best regards,

  • Hi Yamamoto-san,

There are two parts to this question. We can address the DRV8802-Q1 side, but the capacitor manufacturer should address their device.

DRV8802-Q1 --  if the voltages and currents are provided to the device are within operating limits, there is no concern.

100uF cap -- if temperature and aging cause voltage swings outside the operating limits, this would be a concern. This should be address by the capacitor manufacturer.
