DRV8307EVM: Motor overheating problem !!!

Hi,

I have a motor overheating problem when using DRV8307EVM board. I am using a 24V blower motor and i obtain correct output pressure values wrt currents according to datasheet. But temperature values are out of range. According to datasheet, maximum temperature is 40 celsius but i am measuring 60-65 celsius. Again, all other parameters are correct according to datasheet.

Do you have any idea what is the problem?

Is the problem with your motor overheating? Are you able to provide the motor datasheet?

Yes. The only problem is motor overheating but supplied currents are within the range. You can find the datasheet below.

Hi,

Probably commutation logic is improper that’s why motor is heating. To verify this observe the phase current waveform, if issue with commutation logic then you can find glitches in the current waveform else you will get perfect sinusoidal or trapezoidal waveform based on your algorithm.
