Hi Experts,

Customer has a question about DRV8833 powering up sequence – can they let the digital input signals applied before VM? We see that it is acceptable mentioned in our datasheet, but just want to double confirm with you if there is any system risk in real case.

Hi Jacky,

Although it is acceptable, it is not recommended. For example, there can be current draw on the AINx/BINx signals if they have a voltage applied to them while the device's VM is OFF.

Best practice is to keep signals off until VM has been provided to the board.
