DRV8305-Q1EVM: PTP BLDC motor spin

Part Number: DRV8305-Q1EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MOTORWARE, TMS320F28027F,

Hello,

A few days ago I received the DRV8305Q1-EVM. I am trying to understand how to work with the InstaSPIN-FOC MotorWare GUI (or with the CCS) for my requirements.

I need to actuate a Point To Point move with a constant velocity. How could I actuate this motion? Which LAB should I use for such a motion?

If I need a very accurate position for the velocity change ( from 200deg/sec to -200deg/sec) , could I connect a 18 bit encoder to this board? Does the TMS320F28027F have encoder inputs?

Thanks for your help!

Eli

  • 1. The DRV8305-Q1EVM based on F28027F just supports InstaSPIN-FCO, can't be used for motion control as well. You may have a look at the InstaSPIN lab guide to know what lab and device/board can be used for motion control.

Download the motorWare software as the following link and install it by default.

    http://www.ti.com/tool/motorware

The instaSPIN lab guide can be found in the below folder

    C:\ti\motorware\motorware_1_01_00_18\docs\labs

    2. That depends on the interface of the encoder. You may check the encoder spec and F28027F datasheet.
