DRV8889-Q1EVM: EVM disconnected on DRV8889-Q1's GUI

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask DRV8889-Q1EVM?

We purchased DRV8889-Q1EVM. So, this EVM is the brand new.
We tried to operate it, however GUI shows "EVM disconnected" with USB connection.
The PC's device maneger recognized USB(COMX), so GUI has some troble.
We attach the log file on GUI.

And then, we tried the same thing with DRV8436EVM, there is no problem.

Therefore, what should we do? Should we purchase the brand new one again??

Hirotaka-san,

To improve DRV8889-Q1EVM GUI Torque_count data collection, we released three firmware versions. The GUI has to be matched to the firmware or the firmware is updated from the GUI. Which GUI version is installed?

Now, there are three options:

1. Try the three GUI to see if they can match your board's firmware.

2. Update the firmware from the latest GUI_1.1.7. It requires MSP-FET tool (https://www.ti.com/store/ti/en/p/product/?p=MSP-FET ). The update method is in https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slvc796

3. Send me private message, we can have a webex call to fix the installation issue.

Thank you so much for your cooperation always!

We confirmed and solved our issue with following steps;

1. We got and installed the GUI composer runtime v7.2.0 can be downloaded from https://dev.ti.com/gallery/info/DRV8889Group/DRV8889-Q1/ver/1.1.1/.
2. We wrote the EVM's software with DRV8889-Q1EVM_STALLv1p23 and MSP-FET tool (https://www.ti.com/store/ti/en/p/product/?p=MSP-FET ).
3. We installed GUI software with following steps;
     -DRV8889-Q1-1.0.0.setup-win_7.1.0.exe
     -DRV8889-Q1-1.1.1.setup-win_7.2.0.exe
     -DRV8889-Q1-1.1.7.setup-win_7.3.0.exe

We don't know whether the cause of problem was or not.
We appreciate your help.

Hirotaka-san,

Great! It works. The firmware 1.23 matches GUI 1.1.7.
