DRV10987EVM: Speed control and Current limit

Part Number: DRV10987EVM

Hi,

I want to operate the motor continuously using the DRV10987EVM.

The motor rotates when the command is put by speed control command. However, the current continues to increase, and motor stops by the current limit.

Then, The restart and stop (by the current limit) are repeated.

Why does the current continue to increase?

    Hi,

    Thanks for posting your question in E2E forum. Looks like the device is having unsuccessful starts. Current increases as the load on the motor increases. Motor load increases with speed if it is a fan application. I will need more information to troubleshoot your problem. All the 3 screenshots you uploaded are broken. Can you upload them again and also share the motor parameters and your EEPROM settings?

    I was able to solve my problem myself.

    The cause was that Kt value was wrong.
