driver/controller for a DC brushed 6V motor with an encoder

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8837, DRV8839

Hello,

We are using this motor ( https://www.dfrobot.com/product-1617.html ) for two projects. Does TI offer any motor driver which would work for this motor? Highly appreciate the URGENT response.

Thanks

  • Hi Gemini1000,

Based on the voltage rating of the motor, I suggest either the DRV8837 or the DRV8839. Both of those devices have an operating voltage range of 1.8V to 11V and maximum peak current output of 1.9A. The picture below show a side to side comparison of the two devices. The main difference between the two is the control mode. The DRV8839 has both independent 1/2 bridge and PWM control mode. The DRV8837 only has PWM control mode. The other difference is the package size. The DRV8837 package is smaller than the DRV8839.

If you would like to explore our entire catalog of driver's, you can go to the motor drivers product page here. If you have any questions regarding the DRV8837, DRV8839 or any other driver you can post it to this thread and I will be happy to answer.
