I was able to find the microcontroller firmware source via the answer to this question and while I could probably back-out the API it would be really helpful if you could provide documentation of the USB/serial API (e.g., 0xa6 in the first command byte appears to request a read of the fault register) and/or the source code for the Windows GUI.
