DRV10974: Faster deceleration

Part Number: DRV10974

Hi Team,

Our customer would like to know why the deceleration rate of DRV10974 is much lower than the acceleration rate. Is it possible to change the direction of rotation when the motor is running by changing the FR input? If it is possible, does this result in faster deceleration rate?

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hi Danilo,

DRV10974 has higher deceleration time because this device does not have Anti-voltage surge (AVS) function. AVS function protects the power supply from voltage overshoots during motor deceleration. Unfortunately, changing the FR pin will not result in faster deceleration. Changing FR  pin will only change the direction and not the Acceleration and deceleration profile.

    Regards,

    Vishnu.
