BQ24765EVM: Input Voltage

Part Number: BQ24765EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24765

Hi team,

My customer is using BQ24765 with the EVM. He is considering following the design of EVM, and he wants to know the input range is determined by what.

The input range of QB24765 is 7V~24V, but EVM is 18~22V.

Best,

Zeming

  • Hi Zeming,

The valid input voltage range is determined by the ACIN resistor divider. ACIN must be above 2.4 V for the BQ24765 to detect a valid adapter and enable charging. The ACIN resistor divider on the BQ24765 EVM was designed with a 19 V adapter in mind. If VIN is below 18 V, then ACIN < 2.4 V, which is too low.

    Best regards,

    Angelo
