LM62440-Q1: Could it replace LM61460 without changing peripheral circuit

Part Number: LM62440-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM61460

Hi

I would like to ask that could LM61460AASQRJRRQ1 be replaced by LM62440BPPQRJRRQ1 without changing peripheral circuit? Urgent for LM61460AASQRJRRQ1 shortage, or could you please tell me which device could replace LM61460AASQRJRRQ1 completely?

  • Hi Zirui,

First pls confirm if the load current below 4A?

LM61460 has adjustable output, LM62440B has fixed 3.3V out, the feedback network must be changed for this difference.

  • Hi Andy,

I have confirmed that the output be sure below 4A and they just need the 3.3V output. Could it be possible to replace?

  • Hi Zirui,

The LM61460AASQRJRRQ1 and LM62440BPPQRJRRQ1 have slightly different pinouts.

    Notably:

    LM61460AASQRJRRQ1 has Pin 6 (RT) and Pin 7 (EN/SYNC)

    LM62440BPPQRJRRQ1 has Pin 6 (MODE/SYNC) and Pin 7 (EN).

It would highly depend on if the customer is using any of the synchronization function to determine if it is a simple drop in replacement.

If customer wants the most basic operation at 2.2MHz, then with the LM62440BPPQRJRRQ1 Pin 6 can have a resistor (0Ohm) set to GND for AUTO mode and Pin 7 pulled to VIN.

    Regards,

    Jimmy
