LM5176: is it possible to achieve soft switching control with LM5176?

Part Number: LM5176

Customer was designing a 1500W buck boost module with 36V~75V input, 48V output. They found the VDS stress concern with hard switching. Thus, they would like to check whether it is possible to achieve CRM control instead. Could you please help evaluate it? Thank you.

    Hello Aki,

    LM5176 is a fixed frequency converter, so I think it will be hard to operate it exactly at critical conduction over full input voltage and load current ranges.

    In addition, the device is designed for CCM only.
