TPS65381-Q1: TPS65381 IGN wakeup and CANWUwakeup Mode

Part Number: TPS65381-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65381A-Q1

Dear TI professor

For TPS65381's two wakeup Mode:IGN wakeup Mode and CANWUwakeup Mode

If we use both functions, is it mean it need both hibernate at the same time to let the chip into hibernate to sleep? and only need one wakeup to wake up the chip?

What else do the chip do when the chip is in hibernation?

Is there any wakeup mode priority? Any reference design? Any Technical user mannual?

Thanks!

  • Hi Julia,

Only one of IGN and CANWU need to be used to enable the device, although both can be used in the same design for different enable signals. I would recommend reviewing section 5.3.7 of the TPS65381A-Q1 datasheet for more information about CANWU and IGN.

When there is not wakeup source available (IGN or CANWU) the device is in STANDBY state, which means all regulators are disabled and the NRES and ENDRV pins are low. For more information about the different device states please review section 5.4.19 of the datasheet.

    Best regards,

    Layne J
