TLC59208F: Technical discussion about TLC59208F control 8 IOs individually and output High or LOW.

Hi Team,

Customer currently find an IC that can control 8 input IOs!
These 8 IOs should be controlled as High or LOW.
But the customer only has the function of I2C or UART
Could they use TLC59208F & if don’t connect the LED, as shown in the picture below!

This seems to be able to control 8 IOs individually and output High or LOW.

We don’t know if this idea is feasible? THX

Hi Kygo,

The idea and the preliminary schematic seem feasible. Could you elaborate on what exact functions your customer wants to achieve without any LEDs connected to OUT0-7 pins? I wonder if it's the best solution since output 0-7 pins are programmable.

Thank you!

Normally, when I2C does not start, OUT0~7 should be High!

Then if I2C is started, OUT0~7 can be selected as High or LOW

Thank you for providing the peripheral schematic of TLC59208F. The design looks doable to control 8 I/Os individually as output high/low. Please inform me if any problems occur when you conduct the testing of this idea.
