TPS2085: do I need to mount these capacitor near the USB connector or very close to the out pin of TPS8085?

Part Number: TPS2085

I have a related question on this. So, in the datasheet of TPS2085 there is an example USB hub application design wherein the big value capacitor (33uF) is placed near the USB connector. So, my question is, on the PCB do I need to mount these capacitor near the USB connector or very close to the out pin of TPS8085?

Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Shrikant,

I am not sure what application design you are referring to. I do not see an application design regarding a USB hub in the datasheet.

In general, we recommend the output capacitance be mounted near the output pin of our switches, however if you send me the document you are referring to, I can give it a closer look!

If a preferable means of communication, my email is e-higgins@ti.com

    Best Regards,
