LM5145EVM-HD-20A: Prebias startup test with EVM

Hi team,

I'm a FAE intern and I'm learning the datasheet of lm5145.

I noticed that this chip has the function of prebiased startup. I want to test this function under different load current and prebias voltage.

How to use EVM to test this function? Is there anything needing' special attention?

Hi Junjie,

You need to add an external bias voltage to the output through a series diode. Then at startup when the output comes up, the diode is reverse biased. This test is normally done at no load (a load would typically discharge the prebias level).

You can supply it with the external pre-bias supply.
