BQ24079T: Device Comparison Table clarification

Part Number: BQ24079T
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24075, BQ24075T, BQ24079,

Regarding the BQ24075/79 datasheet, I see BQ24075T/79T definitions in the datasheet page 5, section 6 Device Comparison Table.  The BQ24079T line looks to have some possible mistakes.  Should it mimic the BQ24079 part, but just with voltage based TS method?  There is a "v" in Vovp, 6.6V in Vbat(reg) and a "v" in Optional Function.  I would assume Vovp should be 6.6V, Vbat(reg) should be 4.1V and Optional Function should be SYSOFF.  Can you advise if this is correct?  If not, what is the value "v"?

Simialrly, I am not sure I understand the Vout(reg) for these parts being 5.5V in this table.  I assume this would only be 5.5V if the Vin was greater than 5.5V.  What is the Vout(reg) for the BQ24075/79 and 75T/79T....if the Vin is 5.0V?

  • Hi David,

Yes, what you say is true. The values are 6.6V for VOVP, 4.1V for VBATREG, and SYSOFF for the optional function. You can find a more dedicated datasheet for the BQ24079T here

For your question regarding the VOUT(REG) when VIN is 5.0V, the output will follow the input voltage until the 5.5V output regulation criteria is correct.

    Best Regards,
