UC1843-SP: Differences in die construction for the 5962-8670402VXA, UC1843AMDREP and 5962-8670409VPA

Part Number: UC1843-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UC1843A, UC1843

Can provide the differences in die construction for 5962-8670402VXA, UC1843AMDREP and the 5962-8670409VPA?  I would like to understand if the similarities and differences of the dies for the three referenced part types.

Thanks.

  • Hey Juan,

If you are asking about the differences between the parts the difference between the 5962-8670402VXA and the 5962-8670409VPA is a package difference between the same die.

The UC1843AMDREP is a different die altogether and is an "A" version of the die.

    Thanks,

    Daniel

  • HI Daniel,

Thanks for the reply.  My interest is more focused on the heavy ion SEE response on both version of the die.  Are the differences between the UC1843 and UC1843A significant enough to cause a different response, specifically destructive SEE.  I assume that both are from the same bipolar process, but do have some different design feature to possibly make it more tolerant.

  • Hey Juan,

There are differences between the dies that could cause differences in SEE effects.

As far as TID is concerned, only device types 09,11 and 12 have any TID ratings.

None of the part numbers you listed are the TID rated versions of the parts.

For more information you can reference the SMD on the specific part numbers.
