TPS62063: Pre-bias statup function

Part Number: TPS62063

Hi All,

I have a question about TPS62063.

Does the TPS62063 support pre-bias statup function?

When the input voltage is dropped, the output drops slowly, so a reverse current is generated, but is there a function to protect it?
Or does this phenomenon affect the device?

Best Regards,
Ishiwata

  • Hi Ishiwata,

Yes TPS62063 supports pre-bias startup. If you are in PFM during startup, there won't be any switching when the feedback voltage is above the internal reference. If you are in forced PWM and the feedback is above the internal reference, the device will switch with negative current to bring the output back on target. This negative current is controlled, so it won't damage the device.

    Best regards,
