Part Number: TPS3851

In TPS3851G50EDRBR (5 V -operating IC) is it possible to operate as below,

VDD (Pin 1) - Connected with 5V supply.

WDO and RESET(Pin 7 and 8 tied together) - Connected through a pull up to 1.8V supply.

Is it possible to use different voltage for Vdd and WDO (Vpu -Pullup voltage).

HI Abinaya,

Yes, you can certainly use a 1.8V supply for WDO and RESET pins. The outputs for these two pins are open-drain devices so essentially they act as level shifters.

Thanks for the reply.

If i connect WDO and RESET together single pullup of 100K will be sufficient?

Or should i connect separate pullup and connect these pins together

Hi Abinaya,

Is the intent to create an output where it will trigger the MCU to reset if either the watchdog timer does not get a "kick" signal or the monitored voltage goes below the threshold voltage? If that is the case, then a single pullup resistor of 100K will suffice.
