TPS7B4250-Q1: Stand-in Part

Part Number: TPS7B4250-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7B4254-Q1, TPS7B4253-Q1,

Hi,

I have looked for this device part number on several vendor sites (Digi-key, Mouser, Newark), and unfortunately have seen that this part is out of stock with an earliest order due in 2023. This part is necessary for an already manufactured PCB design, so I cannot easily change design. Do you have any suggestions for a similar stand in part to the SOT-23 LDO that can supply 10 V (output current draw < 10 mA)? Some parts I looked at like your LP2985A-10DBVR and LP2985A-10DBVT almost seem like they could work, but the pin assignments are reversed. Alternatively, I can maybe look for a footprint adapter which will allow me to use the design with a different footprint.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

James Hinshaw

  • Hi James,

How are you using this device? VIN/VOUT/IOUT? Are you actually using this device for the tracking feature or just looking to get a 10V output?

The other devices in this tracking-output family would be the TPS7B4253-Q1 + TPS7B4254-Q1, however they are not pin-to-pin.

The pinout that you see on LP2985A-10DBVR is actually the standard pinout for SOT-23 packages for LDOs that the majority of the portfolio follows.

My recommendation since the original TPS7B4250-Q1 is a bit constrained is to review whether or not you need to use the tracking output and for you to look into a footprint adapter if you are to use a different SOT-23 device.

    regards,

    Wilson
