Hi,
I am using this device as a part of a battery project and I have it configured for providing 12 V on the output referring to the "Table 9-1. Typical External Component Values" on the datasheet. Also, I have selected a RT value of 64.9 kOhms which establishes a 400 kHz switching freq following "Table 8-1. Typical Frequency Setting RT Resistance".
The problem comes when I test it's consumption in open loop and, despite the quiescent current is meant to be around 40 uA, I am having up to 20 mA!
Find attached pictures of my schematic and also of the PCB. May I be missing something in the configuration? I really do not understand why the device is drawing that huge amount of current.
Thank you in advanced,
Nicolas G.
Hi,
I believe you maybe using the FPWM variant of this IC.
You want to use the LMR38020DDAR since on the Electrical Characteristic table, the 40uA is for the PFM variant only
Thanks

It seems to be true, I need that other variant.
Consider my issue solved, thank you so much!
