LM10506: BUCK3 disable description in datasheet makes LM10506 reset/shutdown periodically

Part Number: LM10506

When trying to disable BUCK3 by following the datasheet the LM10506 starts to reset every 230ms.

The BUCK3 has been connected as below.

Datasheet also states that out of regulation will reset the :

Connecting FB_B3 to GND will be the same as "Out of regulation" and force the kind of behavior we see.

How to disable BUCK3 in a correct way?

  • Hi Helge,

I would recommend shorting VIN_B3 to GND, floating SW_B3, and shorting FB_B3 to VIN. This will keep the voltage at the feedback pin above the setpoint at all times and the PMIC will not see it as "out of regulation (below 85% of the output level)"

    Best,
    Emily
