LM5157-Q1: Substitute recommendation request

Part Number: LM5157-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61170-Q1, LM5158-Q1, LM5158, TPS55332-Q1

Hi, TI Support Team

I have received a request to recommend replacement parts for the following parts from a customer.

Please refer to the detailed spec below.

1. Request for recommendation as an AEC-Q100 certified product

2. Request for recommendation as a product with a history of use by major automakers.

3. Input voltage range

1) Actual input expected voltage: 7.2V

2) The voltage of 1) must be inputable.

4. Output voltage

1) ADJ Type

2) 13~14V or higher should be supported

5. Current: 1A or more

6. Switching Frequency must be variable (External Sync or RT Pin)

7. Integrated FET

8. Power Good or Diagnosis -> If there is no IC with this function, request a recommendation

I have already made recommendations for LM5158-Q1 and TPS61170-Q1 products, but I received a call saying that they could not be replaced because of the fact that active release was not performed and the switching

frequency cannot be changed.

Please recommend replacement parts as possible parts.

Thanks.

Regards,

MJ

  • Hi MJ,

i also agree that the LM5157x-Q1 and LM5158x-Q1 would be perfect candidates based on the spec.

The LM5158 is close to RTM (within the next two weeks) and the LM5157x has already been releases while ago.

The second argument that the switching frequency can not be changed is also not correct. This can be set between 100k to 2.2MHz and also sync functionality is available.

Another option for a device which has been released earlier would be the TPS55332-Q1.

    Best regards,

     Stefan
