LM5108: Maximum Propagation Delay

Part Number: LM5108

Hi Team,

Our customer's application needs a fast driver where the maximum propagation delay spec is of significance. We're looking at the LM5108 and its datasheet shows typical propagation delay of 20ns. Do we have characterization on its maximum propagation delay?

Kind Regards,

Jejomar

  • Hello Jejomar,

For the more specific characteristics, you should reference the charts on page 10 and 11 of the datasheet. The load has some impact on propagation delay because the rise/fall time is partially included in the propagation delay spec. I would recommend calculating how much you would expect the device to heat up using the thermal information section, and then reference the charts on pages 10 and 11 with the chosen VDD to get a fairly good estimate of propagation delay. This will be less accurate if there is a very large load on the outputs, in which case the delay will appear to be higher.

    thanks,
