TPSM82810: ABs Tj Max vs WEBENCH

Hi RJ,

I'm not seeing where the Tj 150 C limit is.  I just ran a few Webench designs and they seem to limit at ~120 C.  Can you provide a screenshot or report that shows 150 C?

The device is limited to a 125 C temperature.  The thermal shutdown is higher at 170 C typical.  As always, the D/S is the governing document that should be looked at.

Do you need to operate at higher temperatures?  We are now sampling the 6A TPSM82866A, for example.

Thanks for pointing this out.  Something is not correct, so I have looped in Webench.

What temperature does your design need to support?

The environment temp is 85C, but the air temp inside enclosure could go as high as 95C.

Thank you.  The TPSM82864A can meet this temperature environment.  Can they use that device?

The TPSM82810 will run much closer to its limit at 95 C ambient.  The TPSM82864A is more efficient, with a much better thermal package, and smaller.

Yes, the model should limit the temperature to 125 C.
