TPS7A52: TPS7A5201RPST Substitute

Dear TI,

I am currently using TPS7A5201RPST, for my design. The design is ready for production unfortunately I couldn't get hold of this part both from the supplier or Mouser. Question is;

1. When this part will be available?

2. I don't want to redesign the product, is there a substitute part for this chip?

    Hi, 

    TPS7A5201RPS is part of a family of LDOs which are designed to support different max loads so other pin to pin devices include TPS7A5301RPS, and TPS7A5401RPS. Below is a quick spec comparison. 

    Unfortunately all three of these devices are very constrained at this time due to the industry wide semiconductor shortage where many lead times for IC's across different IC manufacturers are 35-52 weeks. So it is best practice to get orders placed ASAP. Unfortunately we don't have any further information on when the supply situation will be resolved at this time.

    The shortage makes the production stop. In between where can I at least look for samples? for TPS7A5301RPS, and TPS7A5401RPS. I just need 5pcs of each to try out.

    Do you have a contact in TI for samples? There is no stock in Mouser or Arrow. So I need to rely on TI to try this out.

    I'm sorry but I don't have any way to provide you units other than through TI.com or one of our distributors. This is a really challenging time and I hate that the Industry's supply limitations are causing issues for you and customers like you.

    Hi Kyle,

    Thanks for your reply. I understand the situation. On another note, I have received an email from TI today, attached below, parts are available now for order. But I can't place the order on TI store. I have emailed customer support, it will take up to 2 days to get a reply, by 2 days this part may run out, do you know why is not showing in TI store? and how can I purchase this?

    Hi Manimaran,

    I checked and it looks like it is out of stock again :( 

    Due to the industry shortages we have been trying to make as many of our IC's available on TI.com to help get material to our various customers who need it however that means that when new material for popular products is made available it can be drained quickly. We've also been fighting some issues with Bots that grab them before others can get to the site. Its impossible to know if that is the situation here, but it is something we are actively addressing everyday.
