LP8764-Q1: Design change of I2C command between LP8764-Q1 and LP87564-Q1

Hi Expert,

The customer will make the upgrade from LP87564-Q1 to LP8764-Q1 to has higher current rating.

I know there are not pin compatible.

And we want to know whether I2C command of LP8764 can fully cover LP87564 featured.

  • Hi Eric,

    With I2C control, LP8764 can be used very similarly to LP87564. However, it cannot cover every use case. For example, the minimum difference in input and output voltage on the Bucks is 0.5V on the LP87564 and 0.7V on the LP8764. In general though, I would expect the LP8764 to cover most use cases, as the 4 Bucks are similarly scoped.
