TPS2085: Power management forum

Part Number: TPS2085

Hi Folks,

The TPS2085DR that I picked for the application in the attached schematic Diagram seems to be operating outside its Absolute Maximum Rating 6V on any pin!

It seemed to be, at first glance,  to be a MOSFET implementation of the OLD ULN2003.

The devices (2 of them in the circuit) are operating fine even at extended temperature range 0 - 50 C.

The MOSFETs in the device are switching OK.

Any comment about why we have not seen any failure of this device?

Please note that the device datasheet is dated 2000 and revised 2007.

  • Hello Ephi,

We do not recommend nor guarantee any operation outside of the datasheet specifications. This is an older device and we do not have much data on it's characterization. The device may work under conditions outside of guaranteed specifications in some cases; however, it's possible that one device could be a corner case which could result in failure.

    Regards,
