TPS610982: ESD 4KV ISSUE

Part Number: TPS610982

Hi

The customer had an issue where TPS610982 stopped in the ESD 4kv test.

As a result of the improvement test, ESD was improved by changing 0 ohm of the mode pin to 402 ohm.

1. Is there no problem using 402 ohm?

2. Please guide the min and max values of the mode pin resistance value.

  • Hi Cho,

Let me check this and give you feedbacks later.

  • Hi Cho,

    Please kindly see my reply.

    1. Is there no problem using 402 ohm?

[WW]A R-C filter of 400ohm and 0.1uF can be used according to D/S recommendation. I think 402 ohm is also ok.

    2. Please guide the min and max values of the mode pin resistance value.

[WW]There is no internal pull-down resistor inside MODE pin so how much resistor can be used here depends on noise level. Large resistance results in larger noise which makes device trigger between active mode and low power mode. So the min is 0 ohm and maximum value is undefined. The practical way is keeping resistor below 1Mohm.
