TLV62568: Query related to "Table 4. Matrix of Output Capacitor and Inductor Combinations" in datasheet of TLV62658

Part Number: TLV62568

Hi !

I am refereeing section "8.2.2.3 Output Filter Design" from datasheet of TLV62658.

Under this section Table 4 is mentioned about matrix of Output capacitor and inductor. Please refer below image -

In above table, I am not able to understand meaning of  "+" and "++" notations. Also, what is the meaning of blank cells ?

Please explain me the meaning of above notations.

Regards,

Rohidas.

  • Hi Rohidas,

"++" sign means that it is the most recommended combination that is validated by the Lab measurements and can provide the best results without any stability concerns. Then after that "+" is also the second recommendation if needed. While the ones that are blank are not tested completely in Lab but can be used as one of the option if required after proper bench evaluation.

e.g. In your screenshot, there is ++ sign for 2.2uH inductor is because that is the most recommended value. High inductor value will have lower ripple while lower inductor value will result in high ripple as compared to high value of inductor. That’s why 2.2uH has ++ sign and 1uH has + sign.

    I hope you understood.

    Thanks and Best Regards,

    Farheen
