TPS7A63-Q1: 5V Vout under voltage and over voltage detection function confirm

Part Number: TPS7A63-Q1

Hi team

I search in TPS7A6350Q1 datasheet and not sure whether it supports 5V output under-voltage detection and over-voltage detection? Since I only found in datasheet it supports Vin-UVLO and we also see in page 19 it seems like the device supports output under voltage detection? Therefore we need your description and clarification whether the device support 5Vout over voltage and under voltage detection, please also help to explain the principle since I could tell customer, thank you.

  • Hi Zirui-san,

UVLO is not so much an under-voltage detection as it is a feature that ensures that the LDO starts up in a known state. The behavior seen on page 19 and in the image you shared is similar to PG functionality, because a flag is thrown when the output deviates below its nominal target for longer than a given period of time (t_DEGLITCH).

I don't see anything that points to direct over-voltage or under-voltage detection for VOUT other than the flag that is thrown when VOUT falls below 93% of the nominal.

    Regards,

    Nick
