TPS65262-2: Over Current Protection about TPS65262-2

Part Number: TPS65262-2

Dear Team,

Hello, I would like to inquire about the protection operation of TP65262-2.

(1). Is it correct to operate in Hic-cup mode when the TP65262-2 IC chip has over current protection and short circuit?

(2). When the output voltage of the buck converter is relatively low, protection not be applied in the Over Current condition.
Why is this situation happening? Is this normal behavior?
I'd like to ask why you don't apply Hic-cup mode protection when outputting a relatively low voltage.

I always appreciate for your replies.

  • Hi,

Q1: Yes, IC will hiccup when over current protection and short circuit.

Q2: From the waveform on the right, the actually loading is not over 6A, it looks at the OC limit boundary.

In fact, the hiccup behavior is triggered by COMP voltage, see below description.

So could you probe the COMP voltage?
