Hi. i'm jaehoon kim form korea.

when we design the SMPS, we need to calculate the power consumption.

So as i know we need to calculate the gate charge loss. but i don't know what that equation means.

Hi Jaehoon Kim,

That equation you posted is for sizing the proper capacitor for a bootstrap supply of the gate driver, it's not for calculating power losses. I believe the equation that will help you calculate power consumption of the gate driver is found here: https://www.ti.com/lit/ml/slua618a/slua618a.pdf

Please see section "2.7 - Power losses" on page 12, and the relevant equations are at the beginning of page 13.
