Could you please provide more data on the short?

Which pins are short circuited?

When do you notice the problem? Once the ICs have been soldered on your PCB for testing or even before?

The rate for which this problem occurs is quite high. Have you already tried the following tests?

• Desolder the IC and check the short on the IC pins and on the PCB pads.
• Replace the IC on a non working board with a new one and check functionality
• Put the IC of a non working board on a working one and check functionality

Thanks for the additional information.

After replacing the ICs in the non working PCBs, have you noticed (referring to the 6pcs that you described before)  if the ICs was damaged after a while or immediately at startup? Have you seen any switching activities, transients on VOUT?

It would be useful if you could share the layout and the waveforms of VIN and SW during normal operation condition (possibly acquired with maximum oscilloscope bandwidth and the tip and barrel method), while measuring the max value of all voltages.
