TPSM63606: Output 2.5V

Hello,

I want to set the output to 2.5V. with nominal input 28V

1- Frequency Fsw:

On the datasheet table 8-1 (p16), the suggested Fsw is between 650 to 900kHz.

But with the equation 6 (p18) -> Fsw = 570kHz.

and with the eval board TPSM63606EVM datasheet : for 2.5V, Fsw is set to 500kHz

and with Power designer, the frequency is set to 730kHz

Maybe i miss an information, but is it better to stay in the suggested Fsw or to set like the eval board ?

It's just to choose the correct Rt value for this Vout.

HI Olivier,

The intention here is to set the ripple current at 30-40% of the 6A rated load (for optimal copper/core loss balance in the inductor) and also to match the internal slope compensation ramp. This can be checked with the TPSM63606 quickstart calculator: https://www.ti.com/tool/TPSM6360XDESIGN-CALC.

Anywhere in the range 500-900kHz is fine. Table 6 provides a "suggested" frequency range, and the result from Equation 6 provides an optimal value.
