TPS57160-Q1: Thermal Shutdown Accuracy

Part Number: TPS57160-Q1

Hi team,

Our customer has a question about thermal shutdown accuracy in TPS57160-Q1. In datasheet thermal shutdown threshold is described as 182C typ. Is there a min/max value for this threshold? How should we consider this thermal shutdown accuracy to prevent device failure?

Thank you,

Muwei Zheng

  • Hello Muwei,

The thermal shutdown performance is something that is extensively exercised in product validation and reliability testing.

The customer can evaluate it in their own product validation if they so do chose.

Often PTAT circuits are utilized to obtain high precision in thermal sensing. I assume this device uses a similar design.

I am not at liberty to share confidential design analysis.

Please consult me over email if you have any further concerns.
