LMG3425R030: Dynamic R_DS(on)

Part Number: LMG3425R030

Hi Experts,

There is a word "Dynamic RDS(ON)" in below white paper.

https://www.ti.com/lit/wp/snoaa68/snoaa68.pdf?ts=1622767792737

What does "dynamic" mean? It it something like ageing?

There is a spec RDS(ON) for on the datasheet. If we consider the dynamic RDS(ON) , should we multiply "Dynamic" factor against the spec?

For example, "Dynamic" factor looks around 1.1 from below figure of the white paper.

Uchikoshi

  • Hi Uchikoshi,

Thank you for your question. As mentioned in the white paper, dynamic Rdson is the variation in the Rdson during hard-switching thermal cycles. According to the JEP173, these tests are done to capture the measure of variation in Rdson. The data plot mainly shows there is no ageing effect as it is not drifting in one direction and well within 1.1. The specification given in the datasheet is the variation from part to part. Therefore, most parts typically have Rdson of 26mohm and extreme values would be 35mohm.

    Thanks,

    Noah
