LM5032: Is it possible to get duty cycle greater than 80% in LM5032?

Part Number: LM5032
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28220

Hi,

In Datasheet every where the maximum duty cycle is limited to 80%. As per equation (2), if the ratio of Rdcl/Rt greater than one it gives a possibility to achieve duty cycle greater than 80%.

Is it possible to achieve duty cycle greater than 80% in LM5032 PWM controller IC?

Thanks

Regards,

Sankar S

  • Sanakar,

I believe the Dmax limit is 80% and according to the UVLO setting can be less at high input voltage. The LM5032 and UCC28220 (suggested in your separate thread) are both legacy PWM controllers. The topic of Duty cycle for these controllers has been previously posted in the E2E form. Click "E2E Design Support" tab and search the forum on terms like "LM5032 duty", "UCC28220 duty", etc.
