LP5569: LP5569 returns on NACK though address and startup sequence is correct

In my project, I am interfacing lp5569 with ST MCU STM32G031K8 and using Segger Embedded studio for development. I am gettting NACK from I2C Slave LP5569. Following is startup sequence

Turn on EN/PWM

1us Delay

Turn on v1p8

2.5ms Delay

Send I2C Slave address 0x32. Below is the snapshot of the transaction. Logic analyzer shows it as ACK but MCU treats as NACK as slave is pulling the line high in below analog trace of the SDA line

Hi Hareesha,

The startup sequence and slave address setting are correct. Please try sending register data on the SDA line and use the READ function to testify the ACK/NACK signal. If no data is read and LP5569 slave is not working, I suggest to capture I2C waveforms from BOOST-LP5569EVM board either from GUI or TI MCU launchpad.

Hi Aaron,

Thanks for the response. LED Driver routine works fine when compiled and tested using Keil Compiler , However same routine behaves differently when used segger embedded studio environment and LED driver returns NACK for same routine . Please share your thoughts on it.

Hi Hareesha,

Unfortunately, I don't have any development experience with those two compilers / IDE.

At this point I suggest to find someone who has experience in STM32 under Segger environment.

There was issue with GPIO Configuration. I2C SCL , SDA was configured to Push pull configuration. Changed to Open drain configured. Issue resolved.
