TPS61236P: [TPS61236P] Inquiries about product features

Part Number: TPS61236P

Hi, TI support team

Inquire to the customer to recommend the TPS61236P product as an alternative to the products below.

- MP3423 / MAXIM

1. It enters into PFM mode during light load. What is the light load level? (how many mA?)

2. If measured in actual EVM, is it possible to measure at the level of item 1?

3. The datasheet describes the operation according to the high/low of the EN pin.

3-1. If the EN pin is low when Vin is input, is Vout at 0V level?

3-2. Is it true that EN is always true disconnection when low?

Please give me a quick reply.

Thanks.

Regards,

MJ

  • Hi MJ,

Please kindly see my comments below:

    1. It enters into PFM mode during light load. What is the light load level? (how many mA?)1. It enters into PFM mode during light load. What is the light load level? (how many mA?)

[WW]Please refer to load regulation curve in datasheet Figure 35-37. The device quits PFM at load around 0.2A to 0.3A. Different Vin, Vout, inductor value and efficiency changes the threshold between PFM and PWM.

    2. If measured in actual EVM, is it possible to measure at the level of item 1?

[WW]Yes. Customer can check the threshold at their own desired operation conditions.

    3. The datasheet describes the operation according to the high/low of the EN pin.

3-1. If the EN pin is low when Vin is input, is Vout at 0V level?

[WW]If VOUT has nothing tied, for example, no leakage from load (Other supply leakage current through load to TPS61236), the VOUT will be discharged to 0V through FB resistors.

3-2. Is it true that EN is always true disconnection when low?

    [WW]Yes.
