TPS785-Q1: dropout voltage

Hi team,

Could you advise the dropout voltage of TPS785-Q1(VSON package) at 500mA?

Here is my condition : 

VIN=1.8V

Vout=1.2V

Iout=0.5A max

Electrical characteristic table's condition is VIN=Vout(nom)+0.75V or 2.0V, and dropout at Vout=1.2V @1A is 800mV.

So I think TPS745-Q1 might be better to consider. 

Could you advise?

    Hello,

             Both, TPS785-Q1 and TPS745-Q1 would work for the test conditions you specify (VIN = 1.8V, VOUT = 1.2V IOUT = 0.5A). Please note that, to a first order approximation, the dropout scales linearly with load current. Given that dropout at 1A of load current is 800mV, the dropout at 0.5A would be ~400mV. Hence, for TPS785-Q1, 600mV of Input-Output differential is sufficient for your test conditions. Thanks!
