TPS62869: no need I2C interface but fix the output voltage level is 1.2V

Part Number: TPS62869
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62867

Hi Sir,

due to limitation, we choose the TI part and doesn't want to implement the I2C interface to control it.

We refer to datasheet and select below part as solution. And we would like to discuss few question.

TPS6286920CRQYR

Q1. how to design the output voltage at 1.2V without I2C interface?

Q2. can PGDN and AGND be shot together?

Thanks.

  • Hello user,

Have you consider using the TPS62867, it is the same device without the I2C feature.

If you are using TPS628690CRQY, your default output voltage will be 1.2V, you should refer to the 9.3 section to see a typical schematic. (Typical Application for TPS6286x0C)

If you are not using I2C please connect both SCL/SDA to GND.

You can short PGN and AGND together like you can see in schematics, I would still recommend to route AGND trace to the input capacitor pad.

    Let me know.

    Thanks a lot!

    Regards,
    Dorian

  • Hi Sir,

somehow, the I2C interface just reserves as backup plan if there has any issue happen. So we can not select the TPS62867 because the requirement.

    Thanks to reply.
