LMR14030-Q1: [LMR14030-Q1] REQUEST FOR REVIEW OF BLOCK DIAGRAM AND CONSTRUCTION HAZARDS

Part Number: LMR14030-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMR14050

Hi, TI Support Team

I am trying to configure USB CAHRGER as below BLOCK.

Previously, two LMR14030-Q1 products were used as INPUT of USB CHARGER IC, but to reduce to one, the block is configured as follows.

Is there any problem in the above BLOCK?

For example, will there be any impact on PORT 2 due to the problem (short to GND or short to BAT) occurring in PORT 1?

Is there any problem with using SDP and CDP respectively?

Is there any possibility to affect LMR14030-Q1 due to problems occurring in port 1 and port 2?

If possible, please review possible problems in the block diagram above.

Thanks.

Regards,

MJ

  • HI MJ:

i don't see the issue in this application except SCP and CDP.

if PORT1 +PORT2 current in short condition not over LMR14050 OCP threshold, it will be no problem. for shrot to BAT ,if LMR14050's output short to battery, it will be ok but I don't know what will happend to the USB interface,  it is better to check with power interface team as well as the question about SCP and CDP

    Thanks
