BQ78350-R2-DEVICE-FW: about IPSCALE

Part Number: BQ78350-R2-DEVICE-FW

Dear TI expert,

currently i use R2 firmware, i let the current*10, if when i calibrate discharge current, if  , the discharge instrument should set 20A output? what's SPC_L0,SPC_L1,SPC_L2,SPC_H0, SPC_H1,SPC_H2? which have no effect on the current?

  • Hi,

Yes, that is correct - the current should be 2000 mA (2A) when using IPSCALE for 10x scaling.

The SPC_* bits are described in section 17.28 of the BQ78350-R1A Technical Reference manual. These are the device version and revision and do not affect the current scaling.

    Best regards,

    Matt

  • i think the calibrate current should not 10x, when the load output current 2A (-2000mA), the  input value -2000mA, the charge and discharge current value as follow, i think it is right,

if i calibrate discharge 2A, if i input he -200mA, the display discharge current is 20mA, not 200mA; the charge current is not right.

Is it necessary to reduce the input current by 10 times for current calibration?

  • I think you may be right. The calibration tool in BQStudio may not be using the current scaling since it is reading the raw values from the calibration registers. So you should enter the actual current for this tool.

    Best regards,

    Matt
