LM22675: How can I bypass LM22675 regulator

Here is a schematic for the LM22675MR-5.0 switching regulator.

For testing, I would like to bypass the regulator by feeding 5V from an external supply.  Assuming the 12V supply is replaced with a 5V supply which is connected to VIN (pin-7) and a jumper added across the LM22675 pin-7 to FB pin-4, will this connection damage the LM22675 or cause undesirable operation?

I don't have tools to remove the regulator due to the thermal pad on the bottom.
